1. English Language Arts standard 3.5--Contrast points of view (e.g., first and third person, limited and omniscient, subjective and objective) in narrative text and explain how they affect the overall theme of the work.
Here is an activity to teach this standard (this could be fun as a group activity):
Contrast Points of View
1) Begin with a trip through the dictionary to define your terms.
2) Search for examples in what you and/or the class has read.
3) For the examples you find, identify the themes.
4) Create new versions of three of the examples you find, changing the voice of the author.
5) Report back to the class the differences you discovered in using different perspectives in your writing.
